Single Storey Rear Extension
Sheffield
Our client asked for a new social kitchen and dining space with a functional utility room to allow for bike storage and a boot room. Maximising space and budget were critical to this project, so the focus was about making use of the existing space, rather than adding a large extension. The garage was removed to increase the external space, with off street parking, a small outdoor area for relaxing and to allow more natural light into the rear of the property.

Eco Friendly Considerations
Our client expressed how eco-friendly materials were an important part of the design. RLDM proposed a composite cladding made from recycled plastic and wood fibres. The composite cladding is low maintenance and long lasting, whilst also aesthetically pleasing.

This composite cladding has a durable polymer outer shell that encapsulates the board, and forms an impermeable layer that protects from scratching and fading. With a life span of 50-100 years, our client doesn't need to worry about replacing the cladding any time soon.
